Treviso and the Sile: history and traditions.<\/p>\n
Excursion along the greenway, cycle path in the naural park of river Sile, to reach a piece of history of the Republic of Venice.<\/p>\n
A visit to Treviso, the “Painted City”, surrounded by medieval walls, a slow ride in the “airways” of the river Sile and arrival at a castle now used as a cellar for wine tasting.<\/p>\n
We move to Treviso for a bicycle tour, along characteristic streets of the historical center of the city, admiring the frescoes and decorations of the buildings. After crossing the city we will ride along the river Sile, relaxing pedaling in the green, in the shade and meeting ancient hamlets and luxurious private Venetian villas. You cross the abandoned river port with the remains of commercial boats, which create an evocative panorama. At the crossroads with the Roman road “Claudia Augusta” coming from Altino, Roman city II century AD, we head towards the Castle of Roncade for a wine tasting.<\/p>\n
It is possible to reach Altino, adding 10K to our bike tour for a dive into the ancient history of the Roman Empire.<\/p>\n
Itinerary for anything difficult on cycle paths and low-traffic roads of about 34K (without Altino) with many interesting stops.<\/p>\n

Departure at 8.30am with bike shuttle and 9.00am with a bicycle from Treviso. City tour of about 1h. We cross the geenna along the sile and arrive Casale sul Sile at about 11.30am for a short refreshment. We leave again and we reach the restaurant with tasting of typical Venetian cuisine for 1.00pm.<\/p>\n
We set off again at 3.00pm to reach the castle 1h, to taste some of the wines produced by the noble winery. Return to the villa for 6.00pm with bike shuttle.<\/p>\n
Professional guide, bike and helmet, transfer shuttle, typical Venetian cuisine with drinks included. Bike for under 14, “camel” or trailer (under 4 years). Wine tasting.<\/p>\n
